WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT BEING A NANNY/HOUSE MANAGER?
I love watching littles learn and grow. Staying long term is always my goal because I love being apart of the child's life. I like seeing the relief of parents knowing they found someone they can trust to make their lives run smoother.
WHY DID YOU BECOME A NANNY?
As a preteen, I did many babysitting jobs and was offered a regular position working with an adult with special needs when I was 15. This family taught me everything I needed to know and allowed me to become a part of their family. This relationship was unlike anything I had ever experienced and I knew I wanted to continue. I continued doing babysitting and caregiving jobs and was able to become a full time professional nanny in 2020 shortly after Covid hit and my classes switched to online. The rest is history.
WHAT DO YOU THINK MAKES A QUALITY NANNY?
As a nanny, I believe my relationship with parents is just as important as the relationship with the children. I think a quality nanny has great communication skills and time management. They can run around and play with the children and can also teach them about the world and let them experience with for themselves. I believe a quality nanny has integrity. Making sure that they are holding their values close and understanding the importance of their job.
WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR IN A FAMILY?
I look for a family who wants to collaborate with me. We can share ideas between one another and chat about what is and isn't working. I enjoy working for families who trust me and understand my role within their home. I also look for a family who values open communication as this typically reflects in the longevity of the position and making sure we have a great long-term working relationship.
