Looking for a nanny/Family but not sure where to look?

Make sure to chat about expectations before starting a new placement. Here are a few things to think about beforehand:

• Getting a background check done/checking references

• Asking questions about comfortability with specific tasks relating to the job you are wanting as a family or not comfortable with doing as a nanny (Ex: Laundry, dishes, cooking meals, driving the child etc)

• Try a working interview to make sure it is a great fit!

• Make a contract and have both parties sign it, review extensively beforehand

• Have open communication before smaller problems become bigger ones

• Set up payroll and make sure taxes are being paid

• Connect with nanny groups in your area

• Find professional development opportunities or conferences like INA 

• Become an a member with the international nanny association (INA)

• Find books, podcasts, youtube channels or other avenues to continue learning to be the best nanny you can be

• Have open communication and be direct when problems come up

• Share what is going well

• Do a three month check in, and then yearly after

• Asking what more you can do to support them

• Ask about their goals as a nanny and check in to see how you can support
